    Jazz Voice

    Jazz Voice

Now in its 9th year, the Festival’s signature opening-night gala moves to the Royal Festival Hall but retains its stellar cast of voices performing incredible tunes in this celebration of singing and song. The list of past guests stretches from Boy George, Foxes and Paloma Faith to Gregory Porter, Dee Bridgewater and Kurt Elling.

Guy Barker’s 42-piece orchestra will provide the setting for a stellar cast of vocalists in a spectacular celebration of the singer and the song, playing Guy’s arrangements that continue to thrill and surprise.

The evening will be hosted by Jay Rayner and this year's stars include ‘jazz music’s new messiah’, in the words of the Guardian, Jacob Collier, Polly Gibbons, fresh from supporting George Benson and Gladys Knight, the Brooklyn-born, Harlem-based Allan Harris, the witty and wordly-wise John Pizzarelli, major new Blue Note vocal talent Kandace Springs, plus the gospel and folk-rooted Lizz Wright.

'It would be difficult to imagine a more impressive curtain-raiser to the EFG London Jazz Festival than Jazz Voice' (The Arts Desk)

'I’ve never felt anything quite like what I just experienced. So inspiring and invigorating to be supported by such a massive foundation of sound.' (Jarrod Lawson)

Part of the EFG Excellence Series.
