Jamie McCool (yes, that is his real name) is a young, soul singer/songwriter from Manchester, UK.
After starting his musical career at the tender age of 17 as the front-man of a soulful Manchester band, Jamie decided that the band was not fulfilling his musical hunger - so he decided to go it alone.
After taking the difficult decision to embark on a solo career, Jamie decided to take some time out in Ibiza and it was on this break that the first seeds of his solo project were sown. Finding himself alone on a beach, after a night full of every excess the strip could throw at him, the creative juices began to flow. Inspired by the atmosphere and the music bursting from clubs, the ideas of Jamie's first two solo tracks were conceived and the rough ideas, recorded into the voice memo on his iPhone.
Jamie's first solo release 'BtheLick Vs Jamie McCool - You My Friend' went viral and has amassed over a million plays on Spotify. The excitement around the track in Europe sent it to #1 in Germany - #7 in Spain - #8 in France and #8 in Sweden on the Spotify Viral Charts and it went as high as #12 in the Spotify Global Charts leading to his signing a contract with Universal Music Group.
With comparisons to John Newman, Sam Smith and Jess Glynn being made by industry A&R's - major label releases in the pipeline - the future certainly looks bright for this talented young man from Manchester.
