Two heavyweights of British music, James & The Charlatans come together for a special one off show at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on Saturday 10th December.
Already one of the hottest "one night only" events this December, UK British Music heavyweights James and The Charlatans have now confirmed their special Liverpool Echo Arena show on December 10th will feature both bands taking to the stage to perform together for the very first time.
With their latest studio album, ‘Girl At The End Of The World’ going straight in at #2 in the UK charts, second only to Adele, James have had a year of both critical acclaim and commercial success. Known for their unique and diverse style over their 14 studio releases, James have sold over 12 million albums worldwide. The announcement follows the band’s tour earlier this year, and new headline dates in December.
Tim Booth, lead singer of James said: “We are very happy to be sharing the stage with The Charlatans - a band we’ve respected for many years. Come early if you want to see us perform together. Our first gig with them was in 1990, hopefully we won’t leave it so long after this one.”
Having received widespread critical acclaim for their 12th studio album, Modern Nature, The Charlatans join James in December. Taken from the album, singles So Oh, Come Home Baby & Let The Good Times Be Never Ending were received particularly well, with all A listed at 6 Music. Following on from their UK headline tour in late 2015, the band have headlined a number of festivals this year, including Kendal Calling.
The Charlatans lead singer, Tim Burgess spoke on their performance together: “We couldn’t resist while we were playing on the same stage together, I got talking to Tim Booth about what bands both bands loved and we got some ideas together that we will be running through in the soundcheck; it’s going to be to be awesome - James are a band we have always admired”
