Twenty-twelve saw unprecedented success for Hideout Festival which was one of the first European festivals to completely sell-out. Set on the beautiful Island of Pag off the coast of Croatia, the festival boasts a stunning setting taking place across four beach clubs in the seaside town of Novalja. Headlined by renowned artists Ricardo Villalobos, SBTRKT and Annie Mac, thousands of fans flocked to the newly expanded event for a week of sun, fun, and beats. Boasting more boat and pool parties than in its inaugural year, as well as the addition of a fourth club, Hideout Festival was undeniably the event of the summer season. 2013's event will build on this formula with more artists and increased programming, with more daytime events including pool parties and boat parties ensuring that revelers can dance all day and night.
Next year will welcome Desolat Records head honcho Loco Dice to the island of Pag, bringing with him his cool minimalistic beats and label partner Martin Buttrich. Meanwhile man of the moment Jamie Jones will provide the disco melodies perfect for summer festivals, whilst drum & bass’ favourite duo Chase & Status will return for a special DJ set and to no doubt treat fans to a sample of new tracks from their anticipated new album. Berlin band Modeselektor will also grace the decks to perform their eclectic style of intelligent dance music and 2013’s special guest will come in the form of DnB legends Pendulum, playing a highly sought after after DJ Set and responsible for monster hits such as Trantula and Slam.
Continuing the bass-heavy beats will be DnB don Andy C along with Hospital Records mates Camo & Krooked, meanwhile Dubstep will be exemplified by the likes of Mosca and legend David Rodigan will teach clubbers a lesson in all-things reggae, roots and ska.
Additionally, electronic musicians Scuba, Erol Alkan, and Joy Orbison will showcase their infectiously diverse sounds, whilst Dirtybird bosses Claude Von Stroke and Justin Martin will convey the jacking style of the label along with the Jackathon queen herself Heidi. The forerunners of a new wave talent will join them, Eats Everything and Radio 1’s B-Traits, meaning fans can look forward to hearing the hottest new tracks and sounds of tomorrow.
For house fans the world’s greatest artists will be on-hand covering deep to funky to tech. Cocoon’s first-lady Cassy will be showing supporters how it is done, along with aficionados Dixon, Dyed Soundorom, and Miguel Campbell.
Pre-parties, pool parties, and boat parties will be hosted throughout the festival by label partners such as 20:20 Vision, One Records, and Hessle Audio, as well as club partners Circo Loco, Zutekh, and Mono_Cult. Kicking off on the 30th June until the 5th July, there is no better reason for festival fans to leave the dreary UK behind next summer.
