Having built up its reputation as the UK’s largest children’s festival over the last 5 years, Geronimo are doing a special edition post lock down festival to take place at Heaton Park on the 26/27th June. Geronimo’s event in August at its traditional home, Arley Hall in Cheshire, is still taking place.
Geronimo is a fun packed family festival with stage shows, arena demonstrations, live music on the main stage, craft marquees, donkey rides, monster truck shows, a funfair and the worlds biggest bouncy castle!
Set in Heaton Park the largest municipal park in Britain the event will be spread out to allow families to have enough space to ensure a special day out. For families that haven’t been to Geronimo before we recommend you arrive early as there is enough FREE entertainment for you to stay all day. Heaton park is served by 2 tram stops Heaton Park and Bowker Vale both a few minutes’ walk from the park please visit www.metrolink.com.
Unlike any other family event in Britain, the festival has something for all members of the family to enjoy- whatever their age, although the focus is for 2-12 year olds. There will be 3 fabulous showground arenas, a hive of entertainment throughout the festival with timetabled events including jousting tournaments, motorcycle stunt displays, camel racing and more.
The most popular zone of the festival is the main stage where you can see children’s Tv royalty Sam & Mark take to the stage. You could find yourself singing on stage with a live rock band ROCKAKOKE or joining in with a giant Frozen sing-along. No festival would be complete without music, for the parents we are delighted to announce a great Manchester line up, Craig Charles, a celebration of all things funky! Mr Scruff and Bez from the Happy Mondays will be doing DJ sets alongside Clint Boon. Bands like The Rockin Rhinos, Johnny and the Raindrops will be live all weekend and Big Fish Little Fish for the post-rave generation.
The ticket price includes entry as well activities and attractions within the venue (with the exception of the funfair attractions) Highlights of this special edition Geronimo will be a 20000 litre mermaid tank with displays throughout the day, our monster truck arena, 2 full circus’s, jousting knights in the arena, a Wild West re-enactment arena and not forgetting our high wire walker above you without a safety net!
Do you fancy flying down a zip line, taking a donkey ride, dancing in our silent disco or watching the amazing motorcycle riders on the wheel of death and that’s all before lunch!
We have an array of fantastic artisan food trucks to suit all dietary requirements including Halal, vegan gluten and lactose free options, for the mums and dads the craft beer garden will be serving a well deserved pint. Please note barbecues are not allowed in the park.
Safety is our number one priority, and this year is no different. ALL over 30’s are expected to have been vaccinated by June 15th & they’ll be welcome to the event with proof of the jab. If you haven’t had the jab yet but can show a negative Covid test within the 48 hours before entry – you’re in!
But don’t worry, if you forget your proof of test, we will have teams on hand to deliver immediate lateral flow tests to check that you’re clear. If you receive a positive result – you’ll get a no query FULL refund.
