Flight Brigade are a 7 piece band made up of two families, and have already been compared to the likes of Muse and Arcade Fire. Their orchestral rock sound and fragile emotional delivery has caught the imagination of press, tv and radio with acclaim for last year’s debut EP ‘Stealing Fire’, and the lead track ‘When We Were Young’ featuring as Shock of the New on Radio X and Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch. Flight Brigade were hailed by Record Of The Day as “the best unsigned band we saw live at The Great Escape” and they played to packed out stages at Glastonbury and Bestival on their 2015 Summer tour.
This year sees the release of their second EP ‘U Kill Me’, as a prelude for their debut album to be released in the Autumn. Their storytelling lyrics are inspired by personal relationships and historical stories that develop into intense and philosophical reflections on the human condition. The layers of sound bring the stories to life, and with influences as diverse as metal band Messhugah and James Taylor, as well as their tight knit relationships, they create a musical tension that is distinct and compelling.
