Crowthorne Choral Society's Spring concert will be a very enjoyable concert, featuring the contrasting music of Benjamin Britten and Samuel Sebastien Wesley. It is particularly appropriate in 2026 as this is the 50th year of Britten's death and the 150th year of Wesley's demise. The concert will include Wesley's beautiful 'Ascribe unto the Lord' and Britten's intriguing 'Rejoice in the Lamb' with its exuberant lyrics based on a poem written, in the 18th century, by Christopher Smart from his asylum.
