Dirty Laces & The Lathums Tickets

Formed in early 2017, Dirty Laces have been making an impact on the Manchester music scene with their punk inspired high energy performances, heavy riffs and their own interpretation of popular 60’s and 70’s bands, whilst fusing these components with powerful choruses and raw rock and roll edge.

Seemingly in a matter of months, Tom and fellow Laces Charlie Jordan (vocals), Luke Dec (guitars/secret messaging), Jacob Simpson (guitar) and Luke O’Reilly (drums/percussion), have gone from the side-lines in their hometown boozers scouting out Oldham’s best pub cover bands, to becoming a fully-fledged band hand-picked by Tim Burgess to play his North by Northwich takeover. Since then they’ve warmed up Peter Doherty’s crowd at Manchester’s Ritz and even lined the city’s Northern Quarter streets with passers-by after a curb-side Record Store Day set outside music store, Vinyl Revival. Kendal Calling, Sound City and Neighbourhood festivals beckoned, and the band even had the Bands FC treatment with their own crest resembling their local football club, Chadderton FC.

More recently, they have shared a strong billing on the Tim Peaks stage at Liverpool Sound City and were part of The Charlatans CW9 North by Northwich takeover and have graced stages at Blackthorn and Kendal Calling festivals.

They have had 4 releases to date, the first two were DIY digital releases and the most recent, Back of the Line out on all digital formats.

Following recent single ‘Moving Pictures’ and The Modern Age EP, ‘Back of the Line’ took shape in the band’s Chadderton rehearsal space behind a warehouse, complete with an ‘inspiration fire exit and smoking door’ where the Laces’ story so far adorns its walls; a timeline of tickets and posters from their shows sit between pictures of their rock and roll idols who’d be welcome to pull up a seat at their dream dinner party.

“You have to look backwards to look forwards,” Tom tells of their favourites, from Led Zeppelin to The Stooges.

Wholly aware of the challenge their own outsider status poses, Dirty Laces are bolstered by music they were raised on. Classic and 50s rock performers, 60s and 70s power garage and prog bands, psychedelia and outsider punk akin to themselves; artists comfortable in their own skin and unafraid to take risks.
