Born to an Italian father and Colombian mother in Camden (North London), Desta has been ingrained in a more animated culture from a young age. The influence of Desta’s upbringing on her sound is immediate. She draws on everything from 90s R&B and hip hop nostalgia to soul classics but infused with a vibrant, infectious contemporary twist moving from electric and neo-soul sounds to the oscillating rhythms and grooves of Latin America.

Desta has been turning the heads of key tastemakers early with fans including Complex, 405, Noisey through a number of stylish and well-received releases over the last 18 months and a recent COLORS session. Desta drops her new release ‘Immigracious’ on 12 October.
