Dems De La Paix is a long practiced musician originating from Congo, a vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist and conga player. He’s hand picked some of the best world music players to form an all-star line up to form a sound clash with strong messages of peace and political ideology.
Open to different styles of music as there are no barriers in his music. Rhumba, Salsa, Ndombolo, Pop, Zouk love... his music is a fusion of many styles and music genres. However, he call his music NDOMBOLO.
Born in Congo, now living in the UK. Dems has been playing since the age of 14, initially in dance group BCBG with friends in DRC. While studying he never left music behind, he studied music technology and sound recording in Leeds and Huddersfield, and released his first CD single of 2 songs ‘4 VICES’ in 2007.
He calls his ideology "REVOLUTION DE LA NDULE" Most of the big truck stars in DRC, make good music but sing about beer and clothes. Dems is among those who came out with different idea of singing about politics, and solutions to African problems. 5,000,000 Congolese people been killed in the last 10 years, it’s time to stand up.
In 2008 he joined SOZNAK Esperanto, a big band based in Newcastle. Now he is playing with his own band Delapaix Kingdom (Royaume Delapaix) based in London.
The new album ‘INTEGRATION 50/50’ was released online in 2012.
