Demons of Ruby Mae are Jonny Gavin and Adam Rowley.
In 2012 they performed anywhere and everywhere as a two piece, and it wasn’t long before word began to spread about the intensity of the stripped down performances and the strength of the material.
In June 2012 the decision was made to bring percussion to the sound. The sound of the band inevitably took a step closer to where they wanted to be. With the drums complimenting the shared piano, guitar and vocal, the live shows also took a leap forward. The band continued to gig, write and record throughout the rest of the year, believing firmly that talent without a solid work ethic counts for nothing.
The winter saw the band playing a small UK tour and selling out a large theatre show with a performance that combined the band’s music alongside visuals the band hoped would “create a picture and a story in people’s minds”. The band’s music has been described as Folk, Rock, Alternative, Indie and more, its intensity comes from space, extremely strong vocals and haunting harmonies.
Their first EP “Heliacal” was completed as the leaves began to fall from the trees in the autumn of 2012 and is released on the 11th March 2013 and features 4 tracks, each with it’s own individual feel. The release coincides with another jaunt around the venues of the UK as well as shows at this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin Texas.
