12th & 13th of October 2018
Dancehall deity David Rodigan turns East London red, green, black and gold for a whole weekend of reggae, riddim & rhyme.
“This year I’ve been celebrating my 40th Anniversary in the business... Now to round it off I’m really excited to be launching my new club night ‘ROOTS & BRANCHES’ with a full weekender at London’s Village Underground. On the Friday, myself and the legendary SAXON SOUND will be in session all night long, to represent the The Roots! On Saturday night myself, RANDALL, BREAKAGE & GQ will be representing The Branches! Run come join us for a special weekender of strictly good music” - David Rodigan
David is launching his new club night Roots & Branches by taking over London’s Village Underground for an entire weekend! Friday will see David and the legendary Saxon Sound represent The Roots with an all-nighter roots reggae session. The following night, David will represent ‘The Branches’ and will be joined by Breakage and DJ Randall. Oh and expect some surprise guests too!
2018 has seen Rodigan celebrate his 40th Anniversary in the business with a string of events marking this monumental career landmark. In March he sold out the Royal Festival Hall with the Outlook Orchestra, joined by surprise guests including Protoje, Horace Andy, Maxi Priest and UB40! In April, he completed his 40th Anniversary European DJ Tour, then in June the Museum of London displayed an exhibition in his honour as part of their London Nights Series. What’s more, in July David and the Outlook Orchestra performed an awe inspiring show to a sold out Somerset Set House.
Don’t miss this opportunity to witness the legendary DJ as he spins through the history of Reggae music, from its roots, to the farthest reaches of branches.
Give me some signal.
