Norwegian-born Marius is a huge talent: described as ‘a tenor master of the future’. At only 25 years old he brings an astonishing breadth of references and maturity to his work. Joe Henderson, Michael Brecker and Wayne Shorter have left their impressions on him, but he has forged his own direction and his playing is utterly compelling: breathtaking musical fireworks executed with a flawless technique, combined with a depth of expression and complemented by a powerful band that propels the musicalong.
Artist-led Edition Records was formed in 2007 by Cardiff-based pianist/composer Dave Stapleton and jazz photographer Tim Dickeson, as a platform for new and established original voices in contemporary music; in this mjf showcase, Edition presents just a few of their exceptional artists.

DSQ has received 4 and 5-star reviews in France, Germany and the UK for their past three albums, and are as compelling and powerful live as they are on record. The music builds on the foundations of modal, Bluenoteperiod jazz but also brings in classical and filmic qualities, with a muscular, vital frontline team and a subtle, vibrating rhythm section.
