Captain SKA burst onto the music scene in 2010 when producer and trumpet player Jake Painter decided there wasn't a big enough musical response to the coalitiongovernment and it's austerity driven policies. They released their first version of Liar Liar which got to no 1 in the UK Reggae chart. 

Over the next six years they became a feature of the political music scene, releasing 8 more records and playing live at clubs and protests across the UK.

On 26th May 2017 Captain SKA released 'Liar Liar GE2017' which was number 4 in the official UK charts week starting 2nd June and recieved international news attention as well as 3 million youtube views. 

Their legendary live shows combine a large dose of PARTY together with a strong protest message and the band is made up of some of London's finest session musicians usually seen with artists such as Paloma Faith, The Streets, Culture Club, The freindly Fires, Girls Aloud, Vampire Weekend etc.
