    Brian Reed On Creating S-Town

    Brian Reed On Creating S-Town

‘S-Town’, from Serial Productions – the team behind ‘Serial’ and ‘This American Life’ – recently reached a new high-water
mark for the audio-show industry (by some considerable distance!), the seven-episode series closing its first month with over 40 million global downloads having already achieved an unprecedented 16 million downloads within its first week alone.

Reed spent more than 3 years collating content for S-Town, which began when a man named John B. McLemore asked him to investigate an alleged murder in Woodstock, a small Alabama town. The series won widespread critical acclaim for elevating audio storytelling into the realm of great literary works, as it mesmerised audiences with the mysteries surrounding the life of a brilliant yet troubled man.

Reed has investigated multiple past FBI operations, as well as produced stories about many strange coincidences. His career in journalism has also helped an immigrant gain asylum in the U.S and prompted a government committee to interrogate the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

Part conversation, part Q and A, you’ll have the opportunity to ask Brian your burning questions and find out more about the intriguing world of S-Town.
