    Blink

    Blink

Blink is a Love Story…a dark-humoured, dysfunctional kind of love story that can only grow between two shy, socially awkward young adults.

Sophie, invisible and vulnerable, and Jonah, sheltered by an upbringing in a religious commune, develop an unusual connection in an age of indirect, technology assisted communication.

Powerfully written with themes of grief, romance, introversion, voyeurism, OCD and loneliness.

Love is not a cast iron set of symptoms.

Green Forms ‘I must be loved before I can bestow my greatest blessings, and achieve my greatest ends. Loved I can make life sweet, purposeful and fruitful… All progress springs from me… I am work, I am work.'
Set in the 1970s, Doris and Doreen work in an obscure department of an organisation.  It remains unclear what they are employed to do.  They fill what spare time they have (which would appear to be quite a lot!) with coffee, biscuits, reading the paper, chatting, flirting with colleagues and pursuing a feud with Personnel.  However, things seem to be changing. Their job security is now in question… A beautifully observed play by Alan Bennett about working life, the status we derive from work and the vulnerability the worker can feel, written with wit and insight.
