    Billy Lockett

    Billy Lockett

Northampton singer-songwriter Billy Lockett makes music that is deeply poignant, personal and wise beyond its years.

Citing influences in the shape of the ethereal soundscapes of Bon Iver, London based pop duo Oh Wonder, and the electronic soul elements of a Chet Faker, Billy’s material is heart wrenchingly honest and raw. It’s the work of acclaimed Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi, who truly inspires Billy and motivated him to develop his piano style which he flawlessly executes today.

Impressing with the release of his 2016 debut EP ‘Burn It Down’ which was championed by BBC Introducing (Northampton), this amassed over 4 million streams, hit the top spot on iTunes Singer Songwriter Charts, Top 10 on the main album chart and thus earnt him support slots with Lana Del Ray, Birdy and 3 sold-out London headline shows, including his most recent show Union Chapel show selling out months in advance.

Following a run of exquisite new music across 2017, the Northampton born artist has continued to impress with his ability to execute effortless and intelligent song writing.

His acutely intimate and passionate style of performance and song writing has seen support from press partners including The Telegraph, Metro, Notion, Wonderland, The 405, Clash, The Independent, Evening Standard, Indie Shuffle, Hilly Dilly, 1883, Phoenix Mag, Ticketmaster, as well as radio support across the board from Tom Robinson (6Music), Huw Stephens (Radio 1), and sparked the attention within the playlist teams of Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer.
Billy is currently working on his debut album and has been in the studio with an impressive array of songwriters, producers and engineers including My Riot (Birdy, London Grammar), Mike Crossey (1975, Arctic Monkeys, and Jake Bugg), and Ruadhri Cushnan (Ed Sheeran, Mumford & Sons, Jamie Lawson).
