Becky Brine started singing early in life and just hasn’t stopped since! Professionally, Becky studied Performance and Theatre in Bristol and Devon; has appeared in the musicals “Godspell” and “Little Shop of Horrors” at the Bristol New Vic; works as a lyricist and songwriter; as a Jazz & Blues vocalist and with the 8 piece boogie band “The Threadbearz”.
Becky has performed at such venues as Glastonbury Festival, The RAC Club, London, Birmingham International Jazz Festival, Port Eliot Festival, Plymouth Jazz & Blues Festival and Messum’s Gallery, Cork Street.
Becky has had received radio airplay, on the BBC, Phonic FM, Soundart Radio and Gemini FM with both her original songs and with tracks from her Jazz & Blues album “Almost” which is just getting it’s second pressing due to selling out.
Always a little unconventional in her approach to marketing, Becky kick-started her jazz singing career by busking and still goes out to windy boulevards and sings to passers-by, finding it a great rehearsal space and a good excuse to dress-up in top hats and cocktail dresses!
Becky’s latest project is an album of original songs, very different in style to the music Becky is most recognised for. An eclectic collection of contemporary tracks, with influences from Klesma through to hip hop and written about observations and experiences and, of course, Love.
