As The Crow Flies: Berlin, Todmorden

As The Crow Flies: Berlin, Todmorden

Do you know where you belong?

Wiebke is a Berliner. Wiebke lives in the hills of Yorkshire.

She swapped graffiti for sheep, techno clubs for country pubs. Still, her roots are Berlin.

Interweaving personal diary entries with texts and songs by both German and English authors, Wiebke creates a turbulent night of theatre and cabaret, honest and provocative.

In an attempt to understand her identity, she speaks about the pull of two cultures, curious encounters with alien traditions, and the need to pass on that love for Berlin to her English daughter. A musical mosaic of intercultural experiences.

This autobiographical piece was devised at the Berlin Globe, in collaboration with Berlin artists, some of whom have joined Wiebke in bringing the work to her second home, the North of England.
