Geoff a homeless ex-serviceman is a rough sleeper on the streets of Manchester "Austerity UK" 2015. Geoff narrates the story of how after single mother Jo loses her job, life becomes a daily struggle to pay the bills and feed her children. When Jo misses an appointment at the Jobcentre her benefits are sanctioned. Jo's life rapidly descends into an abyss of fear and despair. Then Peter, a bailiff, starts knocking at the door. Helped by her neighbour Helen, Jo makes a terrifying decision. The women fight back!
