Angus & Julia Stone are an Australian acoustic folk-pop duo consisting of siblings Julia Stone and Angus Stone from Newport, Australia. Their decision to collaborate was taken at the beginning of 2006. Prior to that, both had performed as solo artists at open mic nights but utilised the other as a backing partner. Ultimately they came up with the same idea, “Why don’t we play together? It kind of made a lot of sense”. In terms of composing the material, they write on their own, then work together on structure and harmonies.
Today sees Australian alt- pop pair, Angus & Julia Stone, return with ‘Snow’, the first taste of music to be unveiled from their highly-anticipated forthcoming new album. ‘Snow’ is an intimate, mesmerising track filled with scratchy, sparse guitar and a gently driving organ, which begins the next enchanting journey with the brother-sister duo. ‘Snow’ is available to purchase & stream on all major platforms.
‘Snow’ emerged from the overall album recording process, a process which saw the Sydney-born siblings produce and largely engineer everything themselves, in Angus's cottage studio, Belafonté, in the Byron Bay hinterland.
Since the duo began performing together in 2006, their story has unfolded with an almost magical magnetism that has galvanised the world. Their albums have amassed multi-platinum sales, won a fanbase of millions over spiralling tours here in the UK, Europe and North America, and have over 5 million listeners who tune in, to stream their music from all over the world.
Their quietly hypnotic songs have infiltrated film and TV from the recent Woody Harrelson film ‘The Edge of 17’ to TV shows like ‘Pretty Little Liars’, ‘Suits’ & ‘Revenge’. They have cast their spell over the world's key festivals: Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Rock Werchter, Hurricane, Austin City Limits, Electric Picnic, and Splendour in the Grass.
