This hilarious play, based on a radio play called `Honeymoon Postponed`, tells the story of newlyweds Arthur and Jenny who encounter problems in the bedroom of his parents’ house. Bill Naughton adapted it to the stage in 1963 and it ended up a hit on Broadway. In 1966 it was made into a film by the Boulting brothers starring John and Hayley Mills and Hywel Bennett called `The Family Way`. Although very funny, it poignantly explores the drama of our couples dilemma and its effect on their British working class families and how they deal, or don`t deal, with the situation facing them.
