Cambridge The Junction

The Junction has 3 main performance spaces at its Clifton Way site open to the general public and available for hire:

Junction 1 (The Stripe)
1050 capacity on club nights 850 capacity on live music nights The entire space was refurbished and upgraded in 2004.

Junction 2 (The Shed)
A modern and uniquely versatile 220 capacity timber clad theatre launched in March 2005. The Shed is purpose designed to present drama and small-scale dance.

Junction 4
A dedicated Rehearsal and Workshop auditorium equipped with fully sprung dance floor. The Education Room has the same footprint (floor area) as the stage in The Shed.

From the South (London, M25, Colchester) - M25, M11

From the North West (Huntingdon, Peterborough, Northampton) - A14 then M11

From the West (Bedford, St Neots, Milton Keynes) - A428 then M11

From the East (Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Norwich) - A11, A14, M11)

From all directions outside Cambridge go to Junction 11 on the M11 and take the A1309 into Cambridge for several miles. At the second set of major traffic lights turn right into Long Road. At the next major crossroads turn left into Hills Road. Just after the Shell garage on your right, turn right at the traffic lights into Cherry Hinton Rd

Turn into Clifton Road. After approx 200 metres you will arrive at the road on your left (Clifton Way) which leads to The Junction.

Parking
Secure parking is available in the multi-storey car park adjacent to The Junction off Clifton Way.
Free parking is often possible in the evening on Clifton Road.

Trains
The Junction is less than a mile from Cambridge Railway Station. Go straight down Station Road and turn left at the traffic lights into Hills Road. Turn left after the railway bridge into Cherry Hinton Road. Clifton Road is the second on the left and The Junction is 100 metres on the left.

Buses
Buses run regularly along Hills Road and Cherry Hinton Road throughout the day and early evening. Timetables can be found at Stagecoach-Cambus on-line: www.stagecoach-cambus.co.uk Nightbuses pass to and from the City Centre, Arbury, Kings Hedges, Chesterton, Trumpington, Queen Ediths, Cherry Hinton, Perne Road and the Whitehill Estate.

On foot or by bicycle from the town centre
From the catholic church with the high spire at the intersection of Hills Rd, Regent St, Gonville Place and Lensfield Rd, head straight up Hills Road away from the city centre. As you cross the railway bridge, take the stairway down and follow the access road round to The Junction. Alternatively, use the access road running off Clifton Road.

There are 3 pedestrian access routes to the Junction. One is from the access road on Clifton Road. Another route is via the public stairway off Hills Road Bridge. This is open all day. The third route is across the new leisure site piazza from Cherry Hinton Road.
