    Uniting Cities

    Uniting Cities

    UNITING CITIES IS:
Two Great Cities, Glasgow and Leeds. Uniting through Beer and Music.
Two Breweries. North Brewing Co & Drygate Brewing Co. Launching two collaboration beers. One brewed in Leeds, one in Glasgow.
Showcasing music from both cities, featuring Stig of the Dub (Leeds) & Samson Sounds (Glasgow) and DJ’s from the Wobbley Social.

    SAMSON SOUNDS
Samson Sounds are 5-piece band from the city of Glasgow. Their dub roots spring from the original Samson Soundsystem, a heavyweight homemade soundsystem built and welcomed into a diverse local dance and music culture in 2008. They have found their place as a unique, vibrant act who explore the styles of jazz, African highlife and blues, kwaito and steppas. With a combination of live and digital instruments and a soundsystem to practice on they are no strangers to bass weight and can deliver a good time guarantee at any venue.
The group have made a firm impression on the Glasgow and Edinburgh music scene, playing with the likes of local soundsystem champions Mungo's HiFi as well as organizing and promoting their own events with much success. As of late they are making waves and new friends further south in London, Bristol and Leeds and their summer schedule has taken on a heavy load of festival bookings home and abroad. In 2015 the band were invited to stages at Eden Festival, Boomtown, Knockengorroch, Outlook Festival, Why Not Festival, Doune the Rabbit Hole, Wee Dub Festival and Kelburn Psychedelic Forest Carnival.
With a debut album released on the 27th of February 2016 and an August/September European tour in the diary they do not intend to slow down. 2016 looks to be a good year for the Samsonites.

    STIG OF THE DUB

Your friendly neighborhood outlet of reggae, dub and ska from West Yorkshire.

Formed in a Keighley basement between singer Joe Chapman and guitarist/Dub producer Warren Houchen, it all started as a simple jam session. Soon after sticking a few tunes online the word was out and quickly ‘Stig of the Dub’ was formed. All hailing from the rolling hills of Yorkshire; Nathan Gunning (Vocalist), Ben Burnside (Drums), Tom Charters (Guitar), Jake Marshall (Bass Guitar) Fred Pearson (Saxo phone) and finally Dan Attwood (Percussion) all bringing knowledge and experience from diverse musical backgrounds and drawing influence from a wide variety of genres to help create a truly unique reggae sound.

    WOBBLEY SOCIAL

Founded in Eden Festival's Furry Chillum tent the Wobbley Social is a group of DJs from Glasgow. Featuring Sombadi of the Frogbeats Collective, Cream T and Bann Fada from Eden Festival and Breezak Bass, the downtown soundbwoy outta the Mungo's HiFi posse.
Tired of clubnights and DJs taking themselves too seriously, the 4 banded together to make fun of themselves whilst playing phat tunes. Expect music from Reggae to Techno, Disco to Jungle, Afro-beat to Jazz. If it fits it's in there!
