An evening of brand new work from upcoming companies and performers from across the North West
See exciting excerpts of work in development, including WAC’s very own commission winners Mighty Heart (whose new show 'What's The Matter With You?' is coming to Waterside 26th-28th November).
Each scratch will be followed by a Q&A and networking opportunities with producers and programmers from the region.
What is a Scratch Night?
A Scratch Night is an evening designed to give artists the opportunity to ‘test’ out their material on a live audience. Artists will have 20 minutes during which they will perform their act to a live audience and invited producers and programmers. Scratch Nights will see a whole variety of acts performed from stand-up comics, to new emerging theatre companies, dancers, poetry readings/performances and live art performers.
Work shown in Scratch Nights is usually work-in-progress, often in its very initial stages, and offers artists an opportunity to get immediate feedback and make appropriate changes or development to their work for the future. For the audience, it is an opportunity to see new, up and coming work, have an enjoyable (and cheap!) night out and help to create a buzz about new artists and emerging work.
How do I get involved?
If you are an artist or theatre company and you want to get involved simply email a 50-100 description of your piece to theatre@creativeindustriestrafford.org by 5pm on Monday 26th October 2015.
