Join us for an evening of comedy featuring special guest appearances from the incredible, spell binding and outrageous Alex Lowe as CLINTON BAPTISTE and also featuring the brilliant Ted Robbins in character as the infamous Den Perry together on stage for one night only in a hilarious live show for fans of Phoenix Nights and live stand up comedy.
Actor and comedian Alex Lowe is the man behind Clinton Baptiste. Baptiste is the hapless, unsubtle psychic which he originated on the popular Channel 4 TV show Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights.
In 2008 Lowe reprised his role, bringing Clinton Baptiste back for Peter Kay’s spoof talent show titled Britain’s Got The Pop Factor… And Possibly A New Celebrity Jesus Christ Soapstar Superstar Strictly On Ice. He again reprised the silly spiritualist in 2015 during a special screening of Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights at the Manchester Arena.
Lowe returned to conjure up his beloved character in 2018 for the six-part Clinton Baptiste’s Paranormal Podcast, during which he professed to take listeners on a journey beyond the celestial curtain. A huge success, the podcast returned in 2019 and 2020. Plus, during these years, Lowe appeared as Baptiste on Radio X’s The Chris Moyles Show to promote his podcast and wound up with a spot as a regular guest.
Lowe is also a regular on the stand-up comedy circuit. He took 'Clinton Baptiste – The Paranormalist Returns!' on a sell-out tour around the country in 2019 and early 2020.
This show will be Alex's very first live show of 2021 before he embarks on an extensive national theatre show with 'Clinton Baptiste goes Stratospheric'.
TED ROBBINS -
One of the North's most respected and beloved entertainers, Ted is perhaps best known as Den Perry in Peter Kay’s iconic “Phoenix Nights” with appearances in other award winning shows including “League of Gentlemen”, The Governor in CBBC’s “The Slammer” (for which he won a BAFTA )and with Victoria Wood for many years.
He starred in Coronation Street and even fixed Dame Helen Mirren’s bike in “Calendar Girls”!
Ted was for many years the go-to warm up for virtually any TV show with a studio audience.
