Small Weller was put together by Scott Jones after meeting Tony Holt (lead guitarist) at an open mic night ran by Scott. As an acoustic duo they would play numerous gigs covering lots of different bands. Settling on all things Weller, a good friend and top circuit comic Gary Morrisroe came to a show and offered Scott the name Small Weller, gratefully received Scott and Tony set off to find a drummer and a Bass player. Calling on old band mate Rob Osborne, a drummer of vast experience and skill, the search for the bass player began. The remit was, a short arse that can handle complicated bass lines and must be able to sing, have his own rig and a live pedigree. Within a short time Steve Harding showed up a man who ticks all the boxes. In October 2011 Small Weller played its first live show. Isaac Needham took over from Rob on the drums as Rob moved away. Isaac has now left the band and John Keaveney an excellent drummer is now the drummer for the band.
