After their sell-out debut at Chepstow Castle in 2014, Somerset’s finest Scrumpy-guzzling quartet are back once again for a right old knees-up on Thursday 18 August.
This family-friendly event features the largest cider collection ever to come to Chepstow, and 10 different locally sourced gourmet sausages to tickle your tastebuds, combining all the best elements of a very British summer’s evening in the stunning grounds of Chepstow Castle, Monmouthshire.
Family favourites The Wurzels have had a long and successful career that most pop acts would be jealous of… with their self-titled “Scrumpy and Western” genre of music proving every bit as popular now as it was 50 years ago. Their foot-stomping live show includes all the sing-along favourites for fans old and young alike to enjoy, including “Combine Harvester”, “I Am A Cider Drinker”, “Morning Glory” and “Blackbird”. Their success and career, which spans almost five decades, sees The Wurzels still selling out shows and they remain a firm favourite on the summer festival circuit.
Supporting them will be The Thatchers, an acoustic three piece from the heart of Somerset who enjoy nothing better than playing music, stomping their feet and drinking a lil’ bit of cider. Formed in 2012, the band consists of members Henry Dyer, Jessica Dyer, and Chris Baker, combining the sounds of folk, Southern rock and blues. With a stomping set consisting of both orginal material and well-loved covers, this band loves a bit of banter in between songs. Last year saw them support The Wurzels, Toploader, Reef and Bad Manners and they are itching to make Chepstow Castle rock!
