Rewind – The World’s Biggest 80s Festival is back with a bang from Friday 19th August – Sunday 21st August 2016 at Temple Island Meadows, Henley-on-Thames.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 29th January 2016 and are available from the official Rewind website: www.rewindfestival.com.
Rewind attracts 40,000 festival-goers and has sold out in advance during the last three years. As with the previous star-studded Rewind Festivals, this year’s Henley weekend extravaganza features another outstanding line-up of iconic 80s recording artists and performers.
This year’s Rewind South Festival promises to boast the biggest 80s knees-up to date, with Saturday’s headliners Andy Bell from Erasure (Sometimes, A Little Respect) and Sunday’s headliners Adam Ant (Antmusic, Prince Charming, Stand and Deliver)
This year’s Rewind sees 14 new acts make their debut performances at the festival, including Leo Sayer, Lloyd Cole and The Leopards, Living in A Box and The Trevor Horn Band. Horn has produced massive hits for The Buggles, Seal and Grace Jones to name but a few.
But that’s not all! The weekend will also play host to a number of iconic, star-studded performances from the likes of Rick Astley, Marc Almond, Earth, Wind & Fire Experience, Heather Small, Jimmy Somerville, The Beat, plus Tony Hadley performing for the first time with a full Orchestra accompaniment at a festival, plus many more exciting acts.
One of the biggest highlights at this year’s Rewind South is the return of the British Electric Foundation. B.E.F. is the brainchild of Heaven 17’s Martyn Ware, and will showcase a unique and dazzling performance featuring a raft of legendary pop artists.
Ware has assembled a stellar line-up featuring the full Heaven 17 band performing songs made famous by the stars themselves, plus cover versions in the inimitable B.E.F. electronic pop style featuring Jaki Graham, Mari Wilson, Peter Hooton (The Farm), Black, Landscape, and Heaven 17’s lead singer, Glenn Gregory. B.E.F.’s 80’s themed electronic extravaganza promises to be a hit-packed highlight of the entire weekend. Don’t dare miss it!
In addition to the rollercoaster, jam-packed August weekend of non-stop 80s music, Rewind will also feature a great number of additional highlights including the Silent Disco, Live Karaoke Bar, funfair, Kidzone, plus Camping and Glamping (aka Glamorous Camping) options.
Originally launched at Henley-on-Thames in 2009, Rewind has become the biggest 80s festival in the world. Rewind has featured everyone from Boy George, ,Human League, The B52’s, OMD, Kool & The Gang, Holly Johnson, Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey, and many more.
Rewind Festival in Henley-on-Thames has proven to be so popular with audiences that it has expanded to Rewind Scotland, Rewind North, as well as South Africa, Dubai and Bangkok.
