Plugged, curated by BBC Introducing in Lincolnshire, is a monthly live event featuring the hottest new bands from across the UK.
Live sets from: BANG BANG ROMEO, Kings & Bears and Hype-O
Bang Bang Romeo
Bang Bang Romeo are a Sheffield-based group of talented, driven and larger-than- life musicians with an appetite for success as big as their sound. Their music is timeless and classic, yet modern and exciting and a sound is already causing a stir across the industry and every audience they perform for.
With festival highlights in 2016 at the Isle of Wight (where they performed on 2 stages including The Big Top), Leeds (where they packed out the tent) and Tramlines (main stage) the scene is set for a packed calendar in 2017. They also recently supported Starsailor on their UK tour. Their debut album is currently in production but the industry is already talking – this much anticipated record has attracted them a publishing deal before it’s even completed and with offers of TV performances already coming in the release is sure to make a noise.
Recent BBC Radio 1 airplay Via Huw Stephens and selection as his 'Pick of the week' has seen the band labeled as "The best in new music" and "one of the most exciting new bands in the country."
Kings & Bears
Kings & Bears are a Lincolnshire power trio that draw inspiration from rock, soul, funk and reggae.
Hype-O is a rapper/songwriter from the East Midlands, UK. Born in Nigeria, he spent some of his early childhood in Austria and London, before moving to the Midlands where he was raised. Bringing a mix of thought-provoking lyricism and furious flows, Hype’s sound is not only fresh, but rhythmically moving. His tracks are a mixture of UK Hip Hop and modern day electronica. A blend of hypnotizing synths and heavy bass, brought together by clever wordplay and catchy hooks.
Setting the bar high early on in his career, Hype secured his place on the BBC Introducing’s influential Hot for 2013 list of artists to watch after generating attention in his local scene. Moving forward Hype is set for an exciting year ahead. With a steady string of already heavily circulated tracks, Hype has been refining his sound and has a heap of new music set to be released in the very near future.
