The line-up:

Supergrass
After the successes of three platinum selling albums, 'I Should Coco' in 1995, 'In It For The Money' in 1997, and 'Supergrass' (aka 'The X-ray Album') in 1999, Supergrass have recently released their fourth album 'Life On Other Planets'.

This talented group of musicians formed Supergrass in 1994 after failing in the job market as factory worker (Gaz Coombes), plunger-dishwasher (Mick Quinn), dinner lady (Danny Goffey) and astrophysicist (Robert Coombes). They are a band who make joyous, moving, vivid vignettes to the madness of human existence, whose's string of successes include, 'Caught by the Fuzz', 'Alright', 'Richard III', 'Sun Hits the Sky', 'Going Out', 'Pumping on Your Stereo' and 'Moving'. Eight years of touring has established Supergrass as one of the most highly regarded and accomplished live bands in the country.

Athlete
On May 28th 2006, the four members of Athlete gathered in the studio they’d just finished building, a short hop from their south east London homes. Three days earlier, the band’s ‘Wires’ single had been named Best Contemporary Song at the Ivor Novello awards. Now it was time for Athlete to make some new music. They picked up their instruments, took a collective deep breath and pressed the record button.

Nine months later, in February 2007, they pressed stop. The recording of their third album, ‘Beyond The Neighbourhood’, was complete. That night, the band went for a meal with some friends to celebrate. Afterwards, they piled back to the studio for more drinks and to listen through the new tracks in one go for the first time. “We all just sat there with these huge grins on our faces,” remembers frontman Joel Pott. “When they’d finished playing, we were like, ‘Yes!’."

The Rascals
The Rascals are Miles Kane (guitar), Joe Edwards (bass) and Greg Mighall (drums). Hailing from The Wirral, on Merseyside, these three 21 year olds spent the last 3 years learning their craft as part of The Little Flames, touring with bands like The Coral, The Zutons and most notably, Arctic Monkeys. It was during this time supporting Arctic Monkeys, inspired by their maverick DIY spirit and refusal to comprise, the three youngest Flames decided it was time to trust their hearts and their instincts and go it alone. In September, 2006 they began jamming and writing new material as a three piece and there was born The Rascals. Impressed by the raw energy and virtuosity of Miles’s guitar playing, Alex Turner, (Arctic Monkeys) approached him and suggested that he play lead guitar on a new Arctic Monkeys’s song ‘505’. He did so and has since appeared live with them to perform the track at many shows last summer including Glastonbury, Benicassim and Lancashire County Cricket Ground. The Rascals will be releasing their highly anticipated debut album, Rascalize, on the 23rd June.

Fun Lovin' Criminals
The Fun Lovin' Criminals are an alternative rap / alternative rock group from New York City, United States. Their music is a blend of many styles, most notably hip hop, rock, blues, and jazz, and their songs often deal with everyday life in New York City and most big cities: organized crime, drugs, violence, poverty, and politics. Their songs are often gritty and existentialist in nature, but are occasionally humorous.

They are best known for their hit "Scooby Snacks", which featured samples from films by Quentin Tarantino. In their native US, they have somewhat of a cult following. However, the band gained a considerably large following internationally, notably in northwest Europe, especially around the release of their first two albums in the late nineties. The band was formed in 1993 by Hugh "Huey" Morgan" (vocals, guitar), Brian "Fast" Leiser (keyboards, bass, trumpet, harmonica) and Steve "O" Borovini.

Black Kids
Black Kids hail from Jacksonville, Florida and comprise of brother and sister Reggie and Ali Youngblood, Dawn Watley, Owen Holmes and Kevin Snow.
After enjoying a wave of interest via their MySpace last summer, they began working with Quest Management (Bjork, Arcade Fire) in September 2007 and signed to Almost Gold Recordings in November. This deal coincided with the band offering up their ‘Wizard of Ahhhs’ EP  as a free download via a dedicated website –www.blackkidsmusic.com. This EP consisted of the bands’ demo recordings of  ‘Hit The Heartbrakes’, ‘I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance with You’, ‘Hurricane Jane’ and ‘I’ve Underestimated My Charm (Again)’. Black Kids’ debut album is currently being recorded in London by Bernard Butler and is set for release in early July.

Young Knives
A muscular clatter of pulsing guitars, head-spinning percussive thuds and harmonic, brotherly vocals provide the backbone to a rich throng of giddy, excited ideas and ageless, wry lyrical themes. Truly, Young Knives are a band for our times, and all times.

Their new work isn’t so much a world apart, as an interplanetary galactic one apart – for the elevating, neon blitz of ‘Terra Firma’, or incendiary Revenge of the Nerds classic ‘Up All Night’, there’s the maudlin, tribal Silver Apples chill of ‘I Can Hardly See Them’, or standout, Bond themetune massiveness of ‘Turn Tail’ – complete with 16-piece orchestra (yes, even recorded in a church). The latter is, perhaps, the first Young Knives song that could make you cry.

Constantly evolving, consistently shifting, always appealing, Young Knives’ comeback is the most important and influential of our decade so far, a band destined to redefine genres, better lives, and – for the first time with this album – touch its listeners. Lord knows where we’ll all end up next.

Royworld
Royworld’s unconventional positivity, coupled with their intensity and musicianship has made them one of the most distinct and disarmingly unique bands in a very long time. Their epic eccentricity in both sound and production has created a bold and new indie rock.

A band that draw on influences such as Roxy Music, Peter Gabriel and Talking Heads - Royworld are already being championed by the likes of Jo Whiley at Radio 1 and Dermot O’Leary on Radio 2. Their live following is growing rapidly, captivated by a sense of drama, and Rod Futrille’s endearing awkwardness.

Introducing Royworld: Rod Futrille (singer), Rob Parkin (guitarist), Tim Miles (keyboards) and Gerry Morgan (drums).
