As Loughborough University’s team in the Kia Super League, Loughborough Lightning will be looking to claim victory in the inaugural season of the Women’s Cricket Super League.
With four current England players in the squad, including recent Women’s World T20 squad members Rebecca Grundy, Georgia Elwiss and Amy Jones, plus three international players, the Lightning squad is set to be very competitive as the only team which isn’t backed by a County Cricket Club.
Head Coach Sall Briggs will lead the team for three home games at the Haslegrave Cricket Ground, Loughborough University, with a capacity crowd of 700. The team will be hoping to reach the end of season finals day at Essex County Ground, Chelmsford on 21st August 2016.
