KILL II THIS never followed the crowd. Blending extreme metal with elements of industrial electronica, hip-hop, and even opera, they always beat their own unique musical path. Kerrang summed it up by saying;
“Kill II This set about putting the last 20 years of heavy guitar music into a blender, and arrive at a sound that puts them out as one of THE most cutting edge bands around."
Released in 1997, and mixed by the legendary Colin Richardson, the debut KILL II THIS album, "Another Cross II Bare" featured Jeff Singer (drums), Mark Mynett (Guitar) Pete Stone (Bass) and Nick Arlea (vocals). The band supported GRIP INC. and SKINLAB across Europe in June 1997, then MEGADETH on their "Cryptic Writings" European tour, with a support slot to TESTAMENT along the way.
However, it was only with their second album, 1998’s “Deviate” that the band found their own highly innovative sound. With Matt Pollock and Caroline Campbell recruited for vocal and bass duties, and Andy Sneap producing, the album was released to critical acclaim from press and fans alike. Terrorizer magazine;
“Perhaps the easiest way to describe ‘Deviate’ would be to say it's the album FAITH NO MORE would have made instead of ‘Angel Dust’, had they been Lancashire and not LA born and bred…a hyped-up supercharged electricity that maybe has only been matched on albums like ‘Pigwalk’, ‘Burn My Eyes’ or ‘Vulgar Display of Power’”
