Two heavyweights of British music, James & The Charlatans come together for a special one off show at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on Saturday 10th December.
With latest studio album, ‘Girl At The End Of The World’ going straight in at #2 in the UK charts, second only to Adele, James have had a year of both critical acclaim and commercial success. Known for their unique and diverse style over their 14 studio releases, James have sold over 12 million albums worldwide. The announcement follows the band’s headline tour earlier this year, and an opening set at Glastonbury.
Jim Glennie, James bassist, said: “We are absolutely delighted to announce we will be playing The Liverpool Echo Arena with The Charlatans in December. It's always great to perform on the same stage as a band you admire and respect and this is one of those occasions. It's a fantastic double bill, if I say so myself. 'One plus one equals three', as the great Peter Rudge puts it. Get your tickets early to avoid disappointment!”
The Charlatans lead singer, Tim Burgess, said: “The Charlatans and James have the best fans in the world - both bands have been talking for a while hoping to get something sorted. So pleased this is happening. It's going to be a BIG day.”
Having received widespread critical acclaim for their 12th studio album, Modern Nature, The Charlatans join James in December. Taken from the album, singles So Oh, Come Home Baby & Let The Good Times Be Never Ending were received particularly well, with all A listed at 6 Music. Following on from their UK headline tour in late 2015, the band have headlined a number of festivals this year, including Kendal Calling.
