How to buy tickets safely

• Buy from official sites

  Buy your tickets from an authorised primary ticket agent, like Ticketline.




• Check the URL

  Always make sure that you're purchasing from Ticketline.co.uk. Often scam websites will imitate official sites.




• Look for the STAR logo

  STAR (Society of Ticket Agents and Retailers) is a UK regulatory body that works to protect consumers and resolve disputes between its members and ticket buyers. Make sure to purchase from a STAR member, such as Ticketline.




• Avoid unfamiliar payment methods

  Buy using your credit or debit card. Don't provide anything that seems off, such as a direct money transfer or direct debit details.

Storing your details with Ticketline

All our transactions are processed over 128 bit SSL which encrypts your credit and debit card information. We send this encrypted information to our bank so they can process your transaction. You can store more than one card number with us to give you more flexibility when booking. We do not keep any of your card information on our servers or in our offices to maximise your security. All card information is stored by our bank at their secure data centre.

Combatting identity fraud and ticket touts

Our system conducts address checks on every single purchase made verifying that the billing address matches the registered bank account address. We also monitor ticket buying behaviour and flag anything suspicious, preventing touting. Additionally, we are a member of Visa and MasterCard's 3D secure payments scheme where the customer may be asked to verify their identity directly with their bank as part of the online order process. In a small number cases we may contact you to request additional ID before despatching your tickets to ensure that they go to the correct address.

Extra ways to protect yourself

• Look for sites that have a full limited company name that you can look up on Companies House.
• Make sure there is a VAT number on the site.
• Be cautious when buying from third-party sites. Some tickets found on resale sites may not be legitimate. Fanticks is our official resale site, and only lists verified tickets.
• Check out reviews of the company you are buying from online.
• Don't buy tickets before they are officially onsale. Third-party sites or individual sellers often list tickets for sale when they don't actually have them.
• Companies are required by law to show the face value. If it does not or shows the sale value well above the original value then it is not a valid agent.
• Remember, if it seems too good to be true… it probably is!
