The Vamps announce Forest Live summer dates

The Vamps is the latest act announced as part of Forest Live, the summer music series organised by the Forestry Commission.

The Vamps formed when the band members found one another via their respective YouTube channels. Subsequently they amassed a serious online following through social media with the upload of a series of punkish, acoustic-driven covers of chart-conquering pop hits. They’ve now had 230 million total YouTube and Vevo views as well as sold out arena tours. Last year their meteoric rise to fame was confirmed with sold out tour dates and the release of their debut album ‘Meet The Vamps’, a collection of pop-party anthems such as: ‘Can We Dance’, ‘Last Night’, ‘Wild Heart’, ‘Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)’ and ‘Somebody To You’. The Vamps are: Brad Simpson (lead vocals and guitar), James McVey (lead guitar and vocals), Connor Ball (bass guitar and vocals) and Tristan Evans (drums and vocals).

Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission to bring forests to new audiences. Income generated from ticket sales is spent on protecting, improving and expanding England’s forests and woodlands and increasing their value to people and wildlife.

Over Forest Live’s 14 year history, money raised has contributed to a wide range of projects, from wildlife conservation to making improvements for visitors. With everything required for a great night out, including full catering and bar facilities, the gigs are renowned for their relaxed atmosphere.

Paloma Faith has announced a welcome return to seven spectacular woodland locations this summer as part of Forest Live, the Forestry Commission’s outdoor concert series, having performed to sell-out crowds in 2013.

Paloma’s third album ‘A Perfect Contradiction’ was one of the huge success stories of 2014 and her fastest selling album to date, certified platinum and scoring hit singles with, ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ and ‘Can’t Rely On You’. Tom Odell has announced a very special tour of the nation’s forests for 2015. The exceptionally talented artist is the first act to announce multiple dates as part of Forestry Commission’s Forest Live which will see him perform in seven spectacular woodland venues across England.

Released in June 2013, Tom Odell’s debut album ‘Long Way Down’ shot straight to number one. He heard the news whilst performing on the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury that year. Described by The Telegraph as “utterly compelling”, singles from the album including ‘Can’t Pretend’, ‘Hold Me’ and the gargantuan ‘Another Love’ illustrate a song-writing maturity beyond his years. This has resulted in his achieving the ultimate industry accolade of ‘Songwriter of the Year’ at the 2014 Ivor Novello Awards as well as previously winning the BRITs Critics’ Choice Award for 2013. Following a succession of sold out headline tours and with ‘Long Way Down’ being certified gold, a packed summer of festival appearances in 2014 included V Festival, Isle of Wight and a show supporting one of his idols Neil Young at Hyde Park. Chosen to perform the soundtrack to this year’s John Lewis Christmas advert, the 24-year-old has added his spine-tingling vocals to a cover of John Lennon’s classic ‘Real Love’, generating millions of YouTube views. Tom is currently in the studio recording his new album.

Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott announce Forest Show

Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott have announced a Forest Live date for 2015. They are the first act confirmed to appear in Dalby Forest, North Yorkshire, as part of the annual summer music series organised by the Forestry Commission, where bands perform in unique woodland locations across England.

Paul and Jacqui’s 2014 album, ‘What Have We Become’, which reached number three in the UK charts, poignantly marked the 20th anniversary of their first album together, The Beautiful South’s ‘Miaow’. Equally significant, it reunited Paul with John Williams, the producer of his first album, The Housemartins’ ‘London 0 Hull 4’, and his first number one, 1986’s ‘Caravan Of Love’. The magic Heaton/Abbott vocal chemistry forever imbedded in such Beautiful South classics as ‘Rotterdam’, ‘Don’t Marry Her’ and ‘Perfect 10’ is recaptured on the critically acclaimed album, including singles ‘D.I.Y’, ‘Moulding Of A Fool’ and ‘When It Was Ours’, and in live performances with a succession of sold out indoor shows. The Dalby Forest concert will see them play material from their new album and songs from The Beautiful South and the Housemartins.
