Humanism - an alternative to organised religion?

Religion has only ever brought fear, inequality and segregation to the world - is it time for ethical humanism to come to the fore?

For millennia, organised religion has wreaked havoc and brought misery into the lives of millions of our fellow humans. When we survey the world today, we still see this happening with regards tothe treatment of women, homosexuals as well as between groups of believers, each claiming to have that 'one right answer'..!  In parts of the world, non-believers are being regularly murdered by religious fanatics.

By contrast, Humanism is non-prescriptive, science based, and uses rational thought to simply say that we can all live happy and fulfilled lives without the interference of imaginary gods.
