    Ethan & The Reformation

    Ethan & The Reformation

The bands frontman/rhythm guitarist Ethan Dundavan Davies met and struck up a friendship with lead guitarist Mick Mac in July 2013 whilst both performing at Wonderwall Festival in Flensburg, Germany, a bill that was topped by Jefferson Airplane. Two years passed before another chance meeting between the pair at Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia, where they exchanged numbers with a view to meeting back home in Manchester. The two met a week or so later at Mick's home where they jammed out and began to develop some songs written by Davies. It quickly became apparent to them that this was something they had to pursue and so made contact with keyboard player and vocalist Samuel Parker, a school friend of Ethan's, who added a keen ear for harmonies. After another handful of meetings, the trio had demo'd four tracks with which they approached bassist James Cordeiro and drummer Thomas Oliver Gorton. Davies had known the pair from the Manchester circuit and was stricken by their togetherness and unity as a rhythm section, and moved quickly to recruit the pair. A subsequent run through of the songs as a five piece proved extremely fruitful and so the line up was complete.

Work started quickly on more songs and with a live rehearsal video alone the band secured their first gig, headlining a showcase at Manchester's famous Night & Day Café to a jam packed room. They took the stage with muted applause and left it with rapture and quickly began to make waves on the local scene and as a result caught the attention of Manchester outfit Cupids, who, fresh from touring the UK with Blossoms, asked Ethan & The Reformation to support them at their show at The Deaf Institute. Again the band impressed the capacity crowd and were subsequently offered support slots with Cupids on their 2016 shows in Europe.

During the aforementioned period the five piece were busy in Manchester's Vibe Studios working on their debut release, produced by the studio's owner Martin Coogan, former frontman of The Mock Turtles and brother of Manchester comedian Steve Coogan. Upon completing the collection of songs they were expertly finished by mastering engineer and lover of the band Pete Maher, who's impressive roster includes The Rolling Stones, U2, Jack White, Noel Gallagher, The Killers, Beady Eye, Paul Weller and many more. Their debut single 'Hollandia' is scheduled for release in March 2016, with further singles and an EP to follow later in the year, backed up with performances at renowned events such as 'This Feeling Club Night' an organisation that prides themselves on filling bills up and down the country with "the next big things".
