Sonic Productions presents... Double Trouble
Double Trouble is a hilariously funny Jamaican comedy play, set at any period of time and focuses on various areas of relationships that base on sexual desires, the disparity of the haves and the have-nots and how some couples survive under the pretences of a monogamous relationship.
DICK JOHNSON (played by Devon Morgan), a wealthy businessman and his wife CHERRY (played by Lovena Brown) a bank manager are living together in their posh home. They are a very happy couple and enjoy a lavish live style. However things changed dramatically when Dick got a call from ex-wife DENISE (played by Oliver Miller)who is now living in America but coming back to reside in England, pressuring him to get a place for her to stay when she gets back to London thus putting strain on his marriage with Cherry.
Dick had got caught up into a shotgun marriage with Denise eight years ago but the marriage was under a lot of pressure and Denise immigrated to America. Her return sees her want to rekindle the relationship with Dick, knowing that he is living with Cherry. She adds further pressure on Dick to move her in the matrimonial home making Cherry believes that she is his cousin.
A constant feud with Dick and the all seeing - all hearing handyman around the home, the loony WOODSTOCK (played by Charles Tomlin), see a bond between Cherry and Woodstock, and Denies and Woodstock, as both women in their state of depression opening up their hurts to him. Woodstock constant advice and sincere support to both women punctuated with old Jamaican proverbs and sayings, irritates Dick and adds to the constant feud.
But push come to shove when the motor mouth, jabberwocky, chat too much Woodstock, let slip in one of his physical feud with Dick that both women are married to him. A traumatised Cherry listens as Denise told everything about the bigamist Dick who then has Double Trouble.
Double Trouble boasts the cream of Jamaican star actors in the UK: Charles Tomlin, Devon Morgan, Lovena Brown, Charlene Tyrell and Oliver Miller and is guaranteed laughter from start to finish.
