de Havilland Philharmonic - Soloist Richard Aylwin

The de Havilland Philharmonic begin the year with one of the most charming and endearing of overtures - Mozart’s Magic

Flute. This is followed by the iconic English masterpiece by Vaughan Williams, The Lark Ascending, winner of several ‘all time favourite’ polls on both the BBC and Classic FM.

Bruckner’s Symphony No.4 is the most popular of his vast romantic symphonic output, and was even nicknamed The Romantic by the composer. The opening French horn solo grows with the orchestra into a huge heavyweight symphonic performance full of different nuances and impressions. This is a truly glorious and exciting romantic work.
