Cymande emerged as innovators of the black-British music scene during the early 1970s. Influenced by their Caribbean heritage, and the rich, diverse elements of the Black British musical experience, Cymande created a new and exciting sound captivating audiences across the world.
After releasing three albums “Cymande”, "Second time around" and "Promised Heights" which featured future rare groove and breaks classics, the band disbanded in 1974.
Cymande’s music has been sampled by a proliferation of successful artists, they have accumulated a faithful cult following and anever growing fan base. Almost 40 years after the band formally stopped performing, Cymande, is back together and have recorded a new album scheduled for release in late 2014.
