Beverley also announced in early 2011 that she would be releasing a new album in 2011. She then announced on Twitter and YouTube in March 2011 that the album would be a collection of British Soul covers, she also confirmed that the album would be released in Summer 2011.

 

Whilst performing a one-off gig at the Porchester Hall Beverley to the crown that the album would be titled "Soul UK". The first single to be released from the album will be "Mama Used To Say", a hit single original recorded by Junior Giscombe.

The multi award-winning star has worked with a fine array of collaborators and producers to complete a body of work that is sure to be widely acknowledged as the best album of her career so far.

Heavily influenced by soul greats such as Sam Cooke and Aretha Franklin, Knight has released five studio albums and one compilation collection to date. Widely labelled as one of Britain's greatest soul singers, Beverley Knight is best known for her hit singles "Greatest Day", "Shoulda Woulda Coulda", "Come As You Are" and "Made It Back". After a decade in the industry, she was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Urban Music Awards in 2004.
