Ash Before Oak are an English pop group from Northwich in Cheshire.
This music is the product of two guys brought together by their passion to write tasteful pop songs.
Reminiscent of the Lennon/McCartney bedroom songwriting setup Ash Before Oak deliver meaningful and accessible songs inspired by English lifestyle. With inventive melody and singing in close harmony, this is an emotionally torn sound; stripped down yet still bearing powerful dynamics.
Having released their first single, You Make Me Me, in September 2009. The single was recorded in an attic above a garage with little more than an Apple Mac and a 4 Track recorder. However, the single still managed to get airplay on several BBC radio stations from the strength of the songwriting and received praise from Mark Radcliffe amongst others at the head of BBC Radio 2.
Ash Before Oak released their debut EP, Lifetime in 2011 and are now currently working on a full soundtrack for an independent British film.
