We are proud present an evening of Anti Austerity Theatre at The Dancehouse. Acts will include

 

Knock Knock is a scathing, unapologetic, black comedy, anti-austerity theatre production that tells the story of fear, rage and redemption  in austerity Britain. Written and directed by award-winning writer, Kate Marlow for Love & Light Theatre.

Geoff a homeless ex-serviceman is a rough sleeper on the streets of Manchester "Austerity UK" 2015. Geoff narrates the story of  how after single mother Jo loses her job, life becomes a daily struggle to pay the bills and feed her children. When Jo misses an appointment at the Jobcentre her benefits are sanctioned. Jo's life rapidly descends into an abyss of fear and despair. Then Peter, a bailiff, starts knocking at the door. Helped by her neighbour Helen, Jo makes a terrifying decision. The women fight back!
