Situated over two floors 1 Primrose St is a bespoke space with the ability to cater for a broad range of events.
The Hangar area is located at ground level and incorporates elements of Ancoats industrial past with modern artwork and furniture constructed using recycled materials; including tables made from old wooden cable reels. The D.I.Y aspect of the furnishings and fittings coupled with the lighting and projection installations turn what is essentially a dilapidated Ancoats warehouse into a truly unique space.
Situated below the Hangar is 1 Primrose St.'s basement; the main focus for the venues music events.
Whilst the Hangar uses the incorporation of imagery, props, lighting, and furnishings, to draw from the industrial characteristics of the building the basement pays homage to the buildings industrial heritage. Consisting of simply 4 concreted walls, a stage and a bar, projections add to the basements atmospherics, whilst the low ceiling contributes towards the acoustics, which are galvanised by a powerful Neuron Pro Audio system.
1 Primrose St is kicking off it's October run of events next weekend with Temple & Switch both bringing some great acts to this former Ancoats abattoir come club, a perfect opportunity to come check out the new DB Audiotecknic sound installation.
